About

How to Enter from the Exit is a research project and collective curatorial experiment that explores how institutions might work through the commons. It invites artists and cultural workers to work together, to share knowledge and resources, and to imagine new forms of institutional practice built on cooperation rather than competition.

The project unfolds through three installations and a shared working space at Onomatopee, inviting artists and cultural workers to practice “working in common” and explore how collaboration can shape new institutional futures.

Exhibition design concept:

We were commissioned to design the exhibition and its visual identity. We imagined the exhibition as a scene caught in mid-loading, with forms present but the context still unfinished. A long grey curtain runs through the room at Onomatopee, creating a backdrop for each work. Grey textiles and colored lines recall the aesthetics of 3D modeling software. Across the floor, spheres carry textures drawn from a render library, paired with tags from the research process. They sit in the space like unfinished assets, waiting to be applied. Visitors can roll them, sit on them, or read them.

Through the exhibition design, we wanted to turn the space into a place where institutions are not shown as finished images, but as processes still in the making.

Budget: €1,500

The installation was made with locally sourced, and lightweight materials. It is adaptable, allowing the setup to be reconfigured or reused in future exhibitions.

Duration: 10 days of production time
